Built from what people actually said, not from a feature wishlist.

Every point below comes from public app reviews and forum threads we collected ourselves, including the complaints we have not solved yet.

01

The AI starts it. You finish it.

Photo-to-carb tools get abandoned because the estimate is unreliable and the user has no way to check it. Every estimate in GlucIQ is editable before it is saved, and the record belongs to you rather than to the model. Where the model is uncertain, it says so.

02

Correct the portion, not the whole meal again.

The most common request in diabetes food logging is to adjust what you actually ate: subtract what you did not finish, add a second helping, split a plate, or switch from grams to the cup you poured from. GlucIQ recalculates immediately, by weight, by household unit, or by share of a serving.

03

The formula is on screen, not in a help article.

Bolus calculators everywhere hide their working. GlucIQ shows the formula that ran, the parameters it used, what it assumes, and where the approach comes from - so you can check it against the method your care team taught you.

04

One timeline instead of three apps.

The most common thing people ask for is not having to switch between a meal app, a CGM app and a notes app several times a day. GlucIQ puts the meal, the glucose that followed it, and the insulin context on the same screen.

05

Priced in plain language, never behind a paywall.

Across this app category, billing is the largest single source of one-star reviews - larger than accuracy complaints. So GlucIQ shows its price in the store before purchase, publishes the renewal terms in the same block as the price, and never hides a computed number behind a paywall.

06

Your diabetes history is yours.

Export your meal and glucose logs whenever you want them, in a format your care team can read. Local-first by design: the history lives on your phone by default, not on an advertising server.

07

No redesigns under you.

Loved diabetes apps get abandoned after an update moves the screen people depended on. GlucIQ changes additively, and we would rather tell you what changed than discover it in a review.

08

Built for how this region actually eats.

Regional dishes are not represented in Western nutrition databases, Arabic is rarely a first-class language, and Ramadan changes the eating day completely. None of the tools people currently use were built for any of that.

How we did the research

We collected reviews and forum threads into one dataset, grouped them by the pain point they describe, and ranked them by how often each one appears. Every entry keeps its source URL.

It is a directional read. Reddit is not a representative sample of people with diabetes, and we treat these as signals to build against, not market sizes.
